About HJK
We’re a sibling-run tuition service with over 10 years of tutoring experience. HJK has grown organically over the years, and our love of teaching remains at the heart of what we do. Alongside our day jobs and university studies, we make time to help students work through tricky topics, ask questions and build confidence.
With backgrounds in STEM — science, technology, engineering and mathematics — we bring perspectives from data science, pharmacology, engineering and medicine into our teaching. We promote STEM careers and encourage students to explore their interests through volunteering and opportunities beyond the classroom. We want to help students see where their learning could take them, as well as build confidence in the subjects they study today.
Data science
BSc Pharmacology · MSc Data Science
Our team includes a Technical Programme Manager with five years of professional experience, an MSc in Data Science and a BSc in Pharmacology. This combination brings a structured approach to solving problems, analytical thinking and scientific knowledge to our teaching.
Engineering
MEng Mechanical Engineering
Our engineering background includes an MEng in Mechanical Engineering and three years of professional engineering experience, offering a practical perspective on mathematical methods and scientific concepts.
Medicine
BM BS Medicine — fourth-year student
Our team also includes a fourth-year medical student at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, studying towards the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BM BS). This brings a current student’s perspective on learning complex science and balancing study with revision.
